HOW TO READ THIS REPORT

Action plan is what to do next — copy-pasteable changes prioritized by impact. Category visibility is the real GEO test: when a user asks an AI a brand-free question that should surface BurhanUlTayyab/GPTZero, does the AI actually recommend you — or your competitors? Objective checks verify the metadata signals AI engines weight first. Self-mention check detects whether AI even knows you exist by name.

OVERALL DIRECTION
  • highreadme#1
Reposition the README H1 and opening paragraph to clarify it's an independent implementation, not a wrapper

    Why:

    CURRENT
    # Check out our new project: Faz, a safety layer between AI agents and databases: https://github.com/fazhq/faz

    # GPTZero

GPTZero is an AI model with some mathematical formulation to determine if a particular text fed to it is written by AI or a human being.

    # GPTZero: An Open-Source Implementation for AI Text Detection

This repository provides an independent, open-source implementation of the core mathematical formulation used by GPTZero to determine if a given text was written by an AI or a human being. It is not a wrapper or client for the official GPTZero API, but a standalone recreation.

  • mediumreadme#3
Refine the 'Motivation' section for a more professional tone

    Why:

    CURRENT
    ## The motivation for it
Recently, GPTZero gotten a lot of hype/traction from media to be able to determine whether a set of sentences are generated from ChatGPT. It was indeed a great initative for Education Institutes. However, the implementation is closed-source. We tried to construct identical solutioning and voila!! :tada: our implementation gets the exact same results mostly lol. :joy: :joy: :joy:
    COPY-PASTE FIX
    ## Motivation

Inspired by the public interest and utility of AI text detection tools like GPTZero, particularly for educational institutions, this project aims to provide a transparent, open-source implementation. Our goal was to independently recreate the core detection logic, and through extensive comparison, our implementation consistently yields results highly similar to the original GPTZero.
