- highreadme#1Reposition README's opening to clarify this library's ongoing value
Why:
CURRENTMicrosoft reached out to me about transitioning this library into a new official C# OpenAI library and now it's ready to go! Starting with v2.0.0-beta.3, the official library now has full coverage and will stay up-to-date. More details in the blog post here: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/dotnet/openai-dotnet-library This github repo will remain here to document my original version of the library through version 1.11, which is still available on Nuget as well. 🎉
COPY-PASTE FIXThis repository hosts the **original unofficial C#/.NET SDK for accessing the OpenAI APIs**, including GPT-3.5/4, GPT-3.5/4-Turbo, and DALL-E 2/3, up to version 1.11. It provides a simple C# .NET wrapper library for OpenAI's API. While Microsoft has since released an official C# OpenAI library (v2.0.0-beta.3 and later), this repo remains available to document and support the original version 1.11, which is still available on Nuget. More details on the official library transition can be found here: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/dotnet/openai-dotnet-library
- mediumcomparison#2Add a 'Why use this version?' section to the README
Why:
COPY-PASTE FIXAdd a new section to the README, perhaps titled 'Why use this version (1.11)?' or 'Choosing between this and the official library', explaining specific advantages or use cases (e.g., legacy projects, specific API versions, thin wrapper approach, or historical reference).
- lowlicense#3Add a clear statement about the license to the README
Why:
COPY-PASTE FIXAdd a sentence to the README, ideally under a 'License' heading, explicitly stating the specific license(s) that apply to this version of the library.
